“Older“ is the lead single from American singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine's third studio album, of the same name. It was released on February 13, 2024 through Indigo Blue LLC, under RCA Records, marking the singer's first major label release. The song explores the themes of growing up and wanting to go back in time to when things seemed easier, with the singer's voice being accompanied by subtle, piano-based instrumentation from Mason Stoops.

Announced on February 1, 2024, “Older” by Lizzy McAlpine is the title track and first single to be released from her third studio album.

This song was teased two days before its announcement with the wipe of all posts on her Instagram and the change of her profile picture on all social media to a solid forest green shade. This same green shows up in the background of the cover art for this track. The day after she wiped her Instagram, she posted a picture of her in the recording studio with the caption “might have an announcement tomorrow…” referring to the proclamation of this single. She also posted a TikTok teasing the song.

Minutes after the release of this song, she announced her third studio album, released on April 5, 2024.

“The song “Older” specifically was the moment the album all started to come together in my head.“ — Lizzy McAlpine via Instagram
