“You Got Me” is the fifth track on Mariah Carey’s ninth studio album "Charmbracelet", featuring guest verses from Roc-A-Fella Records artists Jay-Z and Freeway.
Produced by Just Blaze, the track was recorded in mid-2002 in Capri, Italy. Carey had escaped to the Italian island to provide herself a relaxing recording environment. Hov was on holiday in Capri at the same time and stopped by the studio with Blaze and Free.
This is kind of a signature Just Blaze track. We had Freeway on the song, and Jay-Z was in Capri this year taking a little vacation and he came and heard the song. He said he wanted to get on it.
