the most...ahem..."nondescript", inessential album Metallica album ever put out, which is...OH MAN. That's pretty bad if you're goddamn Metallica and you put out an album the entire public at large can easily forget & ignore.

demorei para ouvir pois pela recepção que o disco teve eu estava esperando a maior bomba da história da musical, mas, sinceramente, gostei bastante

Actually worse than St. Anger. At least St. Anger had memorable and aggressive moments that were filled with at least some passion, this is just limp monotony without a single standout hook or riff.

The production is awesome. James voice is incredible, considering his age. Sounds like they have got their second breath. I dare you make the album with the same amount of energy, like these pals, when you become 60yo. Let's just celebrate the music we love to hate.

Cool album! I guess people are still expecting memorable albums from Metallica. That ship has sailed three decades ago. If they can do something just cool it is good enough for me.

i honestly believe that this is their best since the black album. doesn't come close to beating out the big 5, but its much more enjoyable for me than anything since.

4,5 / 10, feels like (weak) leftovers of "Hardwired", the mastering of Bob Ludwig (seems, the 78-year-old has lost his hearing) is a joke. Hetfield's voice is almost shot, sounds like a croaking raven, and Kirk is doing his wah-wah thing again. Worst Metallica album, even "Reload" had better songs. Really sad, although I was expecting nothing.

The mastering is fine for me, clean and what Death Magnetic should have been... I can trace some AiC and Ghost influences somewhere, has more personality than Hardwired indeed.

I see mostly metalheads who gave up on Metallica after Load praising this album and mostly just Fantano stans hating it, lmao.

At first, the new songs didn't did much for me. But you know, after listening to the complete album, it kinda stuck in my head. So I listen to it again and again. And it's getting better and better every time I'm listing to it. That are the best albums, because every time I listen I hear new things I like... and of course some things I don't. Really like Chasing light (not the solo, tho) and Inamorata. And props to artist who goes against Spotify analytics and make songs longer than 5 minutes. It doesn't bore me at all… it really gets me into it!

One and done for me. No reason at all to listen to this again. I was hoping the non-singles would be better than the singles were, but they were just as bland and way too long for no apparent reason. 77 minutes was a slog.

Picks: 72 Seasons, Screaming Suicide, Lux Aeterna, Darkness, Room of Mirrors. I'd definitely cut Inamorata, Barbed Wire, and You Must Burn.

The album would sit much better with me if the songs were shorter. What's the deal with old bands releasing almost exclusively overly long padded out tracks?
