Written for the band by Henry Rollins, at the request of singer/guitarist D. Boon. Rollins' band Black Flag and the Minutemen had played local shows and toured together extensively since the inception of the latter group. The idea was conceived while Boon and Rollins assisting with the construction of a house for Regis Ginn, father of Black Flag guitarist Greg Ginn. According to Minutemen bassist Mike Watt, the song increased the lyrical diversity of their already eclectic 'Double Nickels On The Dime' album while showcasing to Rollins' early fans a different dimension of his work.
