I LITERALLY LOVE all overkill albums, that is not for emphasis, exaggeration or fanaticism, I like all the different styles they blend. Some people find it difficult to stand their slower side, but since I'm a Black Sabbath fan and I can appreciate the almost universally hated (among thrashers) "groove wave" (which is really hard to define, since I don't see many similarities with the likes of Pantera or Machine Head in 90's and 00' Overkill) when the songwritting is excellent, I can't complain about any era of this great band. Sometimes I even get tired of thrash music. But since they originated playing thrash (or protothrash, a speed and very frantic assault in bass and guitars - oh the BASS... best BASS BAND in metal since Black Sabbath!), I can comprehend the critical views among old time fans and I also know just why IRONBOUND is so idolized! They truly couldn't be criticized from any stand point here, even the most hardcore and narrow-mind type of "thrash only" listenings!

Someone fix that fucking song list. But this album slays. Great perfect production and just superb song writing.

Caution, we've got killer here. And according to last.fm it's just a single? Typical fucked up tracklist. They're changing layout like a condom, but functionality is getting worse. [2]

It's pretty much a dead heat for me when it comes to best metal album of 2010 (and best metal album in years really) between this record and Accept's "Blood of the Nations."

I used to think of Ironbound as the best thrash metal effort of 2010 till Forbidden puts out Omega Wave. Second best though.

Overkill really did a magnificent job on Ironbound. Honestly, this is the best Overkill album since Horrorscope. Is Ironbound better than any of the band's first five studio albums? No. That doesn't mean this album is not worth listening to. Overkill had plenty of stuff worth checking out after Horrorscope, such as W.F.O., Necroshine, Bloodletting, and Killbox 13. Irounbound is just better than those four albums. This is one of the best albums of 2010. It's a worthy top ten candidate.
