For years and years I snubbed my nose at this project cause I just assumed that they were a band that played watered down and faux metalcore alongside some awkward misinterpretation of Meshuggah’s riffing. As I got into more and more prog over the years, people kept mentioning their name as a band to check out. I finally caved and realized what an ignorant assumption I made. “One” alone has been a labyrinth of an album, full of nuance to discover. I only hurt myself thinking I was too fucking cool for school.

One became a favourite album of mine when it released, and over the years has probably cemented itself as my single favourite album of all time. There hasn't been a prog band before or after who have played anything quite like it (including TesseracT themselves, you could even argue)

Not a big fan of the mastering, the mixing is cool but the mastering is kinda weird to get used to it, the music is cool tho

I can't believe how lucky I am that I'll be seeing TesseracT live tomorrow night in Montreal, then back home in Toronto two days later! So excited! The last time was for Sonder in 2018. The new material is sure to sound incredible live. 🖤🎶

The production isn't my favorite, but this is some of their most exciting material since Altered State IMO

It's funny you mention that. I think why I like "One" so much, is because of its fluidity, one song bleeds into the next and it creates a cathartic and almost meditative feel for me, almost like listen to one song broken down into different segments. It's amazing the different ways art can effect other people.

I think Altered State is their best album, but not because of the vocals (Dan is a miles better vocalist than Ashe for me). But because of the incredible songwriting and instrumentation: it's by far their most creative album, not a single song feels predictable. Which is most noticeable in the longer tracks like Singularity and Exiled, I fucking love how dynamic they are.

How could this even possible? Im an excessively enthusiastic fan of all kinds of metal. But all this year's listening music, i oversees the absolut pearl of prog metal! This band blow me away from the first track of this album! Thank you youtube algorithms! Finally, i met my musically soul mate!

That P O R T A L S version of Altered State is just garbage. Why go back to it even? Leave it as it was, it was perfect!

I don't believe it's entirely live, just watching it doesn't feel... right. I know Dan could sing like this but everything is so perfect there has to have been a lot of pre-recording and post-production. It kinda does look like playback in terms of the performance, at least some of it. As a studio 'live' experience it sounds even better than the actual studio albums, especially vocally... it just doesn't feel that live to me.

Since it's about being a cinematic experience obviously it's gonna be better than a live concert or gig, but i still think that it's a live performance, but a studio performance like they did with Concealing Fate years ago when One came out and the whole band was better than in the record too.
