I love this album, but we have to be honest that the musicianship on it is sometimes just plain poor. At many points the band don't play very tight when they should. We all know not all of them were strong instrumentalists at this point. I love the last song tho, IMO they could've dropped Captain Soul.

No matter how many times I hear "Eight Miles High," it never ceases to amaze me. One of the best songs of all time.

My favorite byrds album by far, can't get over the beautiful softer tracks on this, especially "I Come and Stand at Every Door," "Wild Mountain Thyme," and "John Riley".

Surprised to see so few comments for this, one of the best records of the 60s. Many people are ignorant about the Byrds, thinking they're just the band that did "Turn! Turn! Turn!" and a bunch of prettied-up Dylan covers. In reality, of course, they are one of the most influential, creative and just plain amazing rock groups of all time, and this is one of their greatest albums. For me this one, Younger Than Yesterday and The Notorious Byrd Brothers are their three-pronged peak.
