this one never clicked for me, and I've loved Let It be and Pleased to Meet Me since I first heard them

It's got some great songs, particularly on side 2, but the production is truly awful and hard to listen to. I need to get my hands on a remastered copy to really appreciate this album.

Those have grown on me over the years, especially Clown. So obnoxious they’re endearing

I think Let It Be is actually the better album, but this album is still my favorite. It was the first Mats album I fell in love with.

...on what grounds, exactly, is this better than Let It Be? The lyrics? Psssh. Let It Be was more exciting, more inventive.

Would've been their best if Bob's legendary guitar wasn't toned down as much. The studio out-take of Kiss Me On The Bus was better than the official album one That being said it's still an amazing album.

I don't know any other album that manages to so accurately capture the feeling of trying your hardest and still managing to fall flat on your face. Truly a testament to the power of failing.

Swingin Party is apparently the weakest song on the album, I don't get that. When Paul lights a cigarrette and blows, I get the goosebumps : D. I think Lay It Down Clown is a weaker track, but thats just my opinion.
