"Lights Off" is the Czech entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy performed by the group We Are Domi.
We Are Domi participated in the music competition ESCZ 2022 with the song "Lights Off", which served as the Czech national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. On 16 December 2021, "Lights Off" by We Are Domi was announced as the winner, having received a total of 21 points.
The "Lights Off - ESC Version" has slight changes those being the little pauses before the choruses that work better with the staging and it helps build up excitement as Dominika sings "So i turn the lights off" and all of the lights in the arena turn off and then the energetic chorus starts with a lot of bright lights.
The lyrics of "Lights Off" discuss the act of moving on from a break up. The song's opening showcases feelings of regret and despair, the band's lead singer Dominika sings about how she "lost her soul" and "forgot her way". The chorus reinforces the theme of break-ups most notably with the line "where are you now when I miss you, you’re sailing around in my peripheral, where are you?" The second verse possesses a more uplifting and powerful message as she mentions that she's "small but mighty", this positive message is contrasted with her temptation to close herself off as she sings that she'll "build a fortress" and "be the wall".
