Whoever is singing on the track Eternal Slumber on the new album sounds a lot like Timo Kotipelto of Stratovarius and I don't know what to think about it. It's not credited anywhere but if it is... ???

Lauri Silvonen already a member of Wolfheart since their inception as the bassist/Backing Clean vocalist :)

Same old chords. Same old formula. Was there ever a need for so many band names considering everything sounds the same?

I literally fell asleep when I saw them in concert, opening for Obscura and Fleshgod

The best thing I've ever found from Finland. Bold statement for a finnic guy who enjoys lots of metal. It just hits straight to my core scheme of my life. I get shivers and sometimes I even cry when I listen to Wolfheart. Just beautiful!

This is my Melodic Death/Doom Metal Project! Highly influenced by Insomnium and Wolfheart. This is our latest single with lyric video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdoP5NEsKyU

Never understood why this guy felt the need for so many different projects when all of his shit sounds the same. Same chords, same formula.

Composition wise this album is a step up from Constellation but the production is garbage and seriously hampers it.

I didn't expect much but Wolves of Karelia is really good. Probably the most solid and consistent record since the debut. It also marks the end of a transition from a unique one-man project with a myriad of inspirations into a generic folky-ish MDM band. Some of the songs sound like they could swap out parts with Wintersun or Children of Bodom or some other finnish group in this vein and no one would bat an eye. Most importantly the tracks are really copy-paste fast/mid tempo bangers with very little variation sans for the interlude and the final track; They're all really good but it feels like I'm listening to the same song over and over again. If the album had one or two heavily melodic and/or slower tracks like The Saw it could be one of Tuomas' finest works, even if more generic than it should have been

On a side note, it took him a decade but we finaly have an album almost as good as Wolfheart's debut. Maybe the next one will finaly be a worthwhile follow-up instead of a CD full of good but half-backed ideas. Sure, all of the albums had their moments, especialy Tyhjyys, but honestly speaking everything other than Winterborn just sorta blurs together for me. Apart from Shadow World, which was so forgettable I forgot it existed up until writing this sentence.

You're not kidding, the production really hampers this album. It could sound so much more impactful.

The Hammer is a sheer force of brutality and melody combined! What a masterpiece of work

And once again! Tuomas has delivered a masterpiece of a track "Ashes", Wolfheart is evolving to one of the finest bands from Finland. But god, the production of this song is not that well. Constellation Of The Black Light had a really clear production. Unlike this single! But no matter what, Wolfheart is always pleasant to my ears. Thanks to Tuomas for he's breathtaking music!

Specially those drums. Which are almost crushed and overheads are barely even visible. I have no idea why they stopped working with Sound Spiral Studios (Juha Raiha) an awesome musician with tremendous sense of production at finest. I had been listening to he's stuff since Before The Dawn era, and god. I gotta say he knows how to make some fine ass productions

Very good album, though in my opinion far from the sheer excellence of Tyhjyys. The second half in particular is a bit by the numbers. The production is also not as good as it was in the previous two records.

I think the vocals are too low in the mix and overall everything just isn't as clear as it used to be

Calm down. I'm not thrashing the album's production, it's still perfectly listenable and enjoyable. I just pointed out that they had done a better job with past records.

I really like Everlasting Fall Breakwater and Valkyrie but albums mid section is bit lacking, i agree. I think they rushed this album a bit because of the label change, even though in about 5 months it would have been the normal 2 year gap between albums.

I just can't get into Everlasting Fall. I love The Saw and Valkyrie, other songs are also more or less ok (not as good as I hoped but that's a whole another post), but Everlasting Fall with it's extremely cheesy synths just feels like a mediocre Wintersun song. Maybe it will grow on me but I don't see what everyone is so crazy about.

Tuomas could keep it going by himself...Winterborn is way better than other two albums. ;) Still good - but nowhere near the first one. Gale of Winter or Routa...masterpieces.

To be honest - I listen to them at least month or two, and I didn't get properly to Tyhjyys. ;) Winterborn still pleases me. With "Aeon of Cold" or "Resistance" from Shadow World. But I tried The Flood now....yep - masterpiece too. ;) My Top5 or even Top3 band, just after Dark Tranquillity, At The Gates...and maybe Be'lakor. ;)
