im sorry but rave is absolutely a genre, not that it matters a single bit. music that works well at a rave = rave music = rave. i agree with this dude/dudette below, edm is the somewhat troubling term in that its pretty pointless. and what the hell does this mean anyway: 'Rave' is just a descriptor for the kind of 'Electronic Dance Music' which is often used in DJ sets, but not included House music. its poor grammar for sure but that doesnt matter only in that it obscures the meaning. so youre trying to say that house music isnt played at raves or that all rave music can be classified as either house or edm? either way its nonsense, rave music is whatever. it can be everything from ghettotech to the clash, its the response it gets that matters! yall should check people like gaslamp killer if you really think it can be labelled so easily and roundly! but who cares right?

EDM is a stupid, meaningless term created within the past few years to try and "brand" the music played at raves. Rave describes a sound that was popular at parties before this edm branding.

No such thing as "rave". It's electronic dance music and its sub-genres. A rave is a live event of such music with DJ sets. [2]. Exactly, 'Rave' is just a descriptor for the kind of 'Electronic Dance Music' which is often used in DJ sets, but not included House music.

Rave music has never died.. Through time as the "scene" spread across the world and the music evolved it just pushed in different directions. There are still tons of Raves and Ravers around the world. There are tons of people who listen, produce, and mix Techno, Trance, Drum & Bass, Acid, etc...
