This constantly gets bandied about as a little brother to 'Kid A,' but I think this one stands on equal footing. 'Kid A' is all about despair and foreboding, 'The Sophtware Slump' has an indescribable sadness and humor, all mixed up with perfect melodies.

Some 13 years later and I still remember the first time I've listened to this perfect album. Thank you guys for being responsible for defining who I am right now.

genious. as far as I know a unique atmosphere. I wonder, does anyone else have a feeling of nostalgia when listening to this album? it reminds me somehow of childhood memories. or, more accurately, of childhood daydreams. wonderful.

More and more becoming my favorite album of all time. Yes, I said "of all time". Uh huh.

I remember seeing the video for "The Crystal Lake" years ago on Q, I remember loving it because of the flying shed, me being young. I saw this album in a music shop called 'Head' for £1, brand new, and thought "Well, for £1 I can't really go wrong." Absolutely love this album, it's fantastic.

Only two tracks I don't utterly love. Such a pity their other albums are nowhere near it...

I first came upon Grandaddy on the B.B.C's Later...With Jools Holland, and was blown-away by their sound, (they performed "I'm On Standby", live). I have been a fan ever since! The first song on this album is profound and haunting...Such a beautiful soundscape!

Discovered this album through my recommendations. Knew some of it from Trigger Happy, always wondered who did that beautiful music.
