Do not miss our penultimate Wax:On blowout before our departure for the summer! True to form, we bring you the ultimate in line-ups, with our 2009 Annie Mac Presents show, across 4 rooms and a plethora of acts to send us out in style! Fronting the bill is Wax:On favourite Annie Mac, Radio One DJ and Annie Mac Presents protagonist, her international tour is nothing short of a sensation, bringing together a deluge of DJs and live acts, expect her trademark prescription of trailblazing mash-ups into the wee small hours.
Chasing up Annie in the main room will be the electronic music heavyweight and production maestro ‘Zombie Nation’. Rocking dance floors since 1999 and responsible for the massively applauded and quintessential electro/techno tracks ‘Kernkraft 400’ and ‘Paeng Paeng’ Zombie Nation is currently riding high from the March release of his latest album ‘Zombielicious’, with tracks receiving massive support from 2 Many Djs, Erol Alkan and Boys Noize to name but a few. Zombie Nation Live has become an international phenomenon with his funky, dirty grooves between electro, house, bass-laden raw energy and a lot of hardware, this show is guaranteed to blow the roof off Stylus’ monstrous main room.
Ed Banger pioneer DJ Mehdi will also be dropping by into Stylus, after years of pushing the boundaries by mixing hip hop and electronic music, boasting collaborations with such notable artists of the likes of Daft Punk, Cassius and Chromeo, has released two full-length LPs: 'The Story of Espion' and 'Lucky Boy', the latter on dance punk label Ed Banger and often tours with Busy P and Justice, and to top off the Ed Banger contingent, Krazy Baldhead will be performing live. Mystery Jets will be treating us to a DJ set, following their second album '21', released on 679 in March 2008 with dance producer Erol Alkan at the helm, the band have been touring the world to huge acclaim.
Next up, the prolific and energetic Rusko, with his fun approach to the dubstep massive whose adventurous sound brought him the delicious hit “Cockney Thug”, which has been played by everyone from Pete Tong, Switch, Diplo and Santogold. And has been remixed by Buraka Som sistema, Diplo, Drop the Lime and the Scratch Perverts. Alongside Caspa we have Plastician, in addition to his worldwide DJ schedule, Plastician has produced for artists such as Lethal B and Wiley. And to complete this illustrious line-up, Eskimo Twins Live and Wax:On Residents People Get Real and Doorly are on hand to get this carnival of delirium rolling.
