Description
Fresh from supporting Bloc Party across the world, on the 15th January we have *DELPHIC* playing at the 02 Academy Oxford – if you know them, get here - - - > http://www.wegottickets.com/event/63720 and get your tickets now before they go.
Ask for them for Christmas, ask your nan, ask your mum, ask your little brother, just don't miss out!
Not heard of Delphic? Tut! Well....well first step.
STOP - (hammer time?)
LOOK - The spirit of its Hacienda days in a forward-thinking, indie-rave type way. Think of it as 'nu-Madchester'?
Combine prog-grunge of Muse and kinetic indie-rave of Klaxons, complete with acid squiggles and bleeps. They describe what they do as "electronic music played with a full band set-up" and have been known to stage impromptu, illegal raves because, they say, they need to.
They cite as influences Factory Records, the Hacienda and acid house, but instead of recalling the slow, slothful indie-dance of "baggy" they've tapped into the rapturous technotronica of their home city pre-Madchester.
LISTEN - http://www.myspace.com/delphic
and breathe, right all suitably enthused?
Glow sticks – UV paint at the ready!
