The Boog-a-loo Crew (Trouble and Bass)

Where to start?!

The Boog-a-loo Crew, hailing from South London, are Matt Bayayer and Thomas Edwards. Residents at the bigger then big Trouble Vision night, The Boog-A-Loo Crew helped put Elephant and Castle on the map for something other than that big metal cube in the middle of a roundabout...

The Boog-a-loo Crew first became involved in the dance music world through the creation of their monthly club night Stick Up Kids. Their DJ sets were and still very much are made up of Hip Hop, House, Baltimore Club, Dubstep and many wacky sub genres.

They quickly gained recognition and were invited to become residents at London’s Trouble Vision club night, which has allowed them to play a long side world renowned DJs such as Rusko, Herve, South Rakkas Crew, Mary Anne Hobbs, Joker, Toddla T, DJ Zinc and many others.

Next the boys turned their heads to production and with releases on Trouble and Bass and now Chew the Fat, its an exciting time to be in and around South London...

So here it is... this is not a raves first foray south of the river... and we didnt even have to leave the ditch...

Alongside special guest:

Kezokichi (Back to Back)

The Japanese rising star Kezokichi arrived fresh in London less than a year ago from Tokyo and has already established himself on the European club circuit. With gigs in London and Milan including Kitsune, Noise Code (Milan), Calling All tribes, KoroKoro, he's shared bills with Boys Noize, Mystery Jets, Isa GT and Alex Metric. Kezokichi is all about beautiful music, with perfect mixes splicing genres keeping the energy high whilst slipping in his own re-edits and mash-ups. Now spending more time in the studio, Kezokichi new remix of AutoKratz track: Kick just went Stellar and with original music on the way, this really is the one to watch...

This is Kezokichi's second time behind the decks at the Horse, and with the first time nearly tearing the place down, we thought it wise to invest in some extra strength duck tape this month to hold the walls in place...

and the ‘This is not a Rave!’ residents:

Not Shy (Calling All Tribes)
Myspace

Not Shy bounced onto the scene with an explosive first set in 2008 which gained this new comer the attention of ravers, club kids, industry players and established DJs. He’s rapidly rising towards the top of the London scene playing at a number of clubbing institutions including Trailer Trash, Always Fridays @ Egg, SE1, Jamm, 333, and others. His first years have seen him billed with some of the top talent in the game including Basement Jaxx, Zombie Disco Squad, Andy George, AC Slater, Trevor Loveys, HiJack, Detboi, and Raffertie. A true master of the slick and heavy mix, dropping high energy jump-up filthy electro house, driving jacking tech house and some wildcard bass excursions, delivered raw and loud.

Pressplay_dj (Our House)
Myspace

When not messing about in his studio doing reworks and edits, Pressplay likes to do the odd mash up dj set. He’s a die hard indie fan turned to the dark side of electro-dance music. Growing fast in the London scene, Pressplay spans genres, and has played alongside the likes of Basement Jaxx, Trevor Loveys and Andy George all the way to indie new tones The Maccabees and My Tiger My Timing. With influences from Fidget, Indie and Electro expect the unexpected and get ready to dance. Did he just drop an indie-remix?!

Rick Tozer (Revenge Is Sweet)
Myspace

Falling in love with music at the dawn of Rave, Rick frequented warehouse parties and classic nights such as Seduction, Evolution and the infamous Camber Weekender in 1992. When he was 15 he set about ripping up the local house party scene in South West London and then over the next 5 years built up a great reputation, had three weekly residencies, played on bills alongside the likes of Grooverider, Fabio, Judge Jules, Oakenfold, Plump Djs and Sven Vath to name a few and played parties at The Cross and Ministry Of Sound. After a 5 year sabbatical in a rock band producing live beats he’s returned to his DJ roots and we are proud to have him spinning at This Is Not A Rave...
