MISS PLUG INN
For the second instalment of Dreams of Neon, we are proud to present the Berlin live debut of the delightful modern day italo disco princess, Miss Plug Inn. From Bologna, Italy, her infectious songs manage to capture the same naive charm as all those early italo records, and would not have sounded out of place on an Il Discotto 12". In 2007, she released the Shake Your Body (Don't Be A Robot) EP together with Wawashi DJ of Hard Ton fame, complete with a remix from now sadly departed italo legend Casco. This year sees the completion of new material including the insanely catchy You & I, a collaboration with Discodromo on Slow Motion Records, and the French-flavoured Chanson d'amour, recently remixed by Bottin and released on Berlin label Cocktail d'amour.
Let's party like it's 1983!

AGENT STARLING
Starting out as a natural born pimp in the late 70s Agent Starling (formerly LSDisco) has been mostly known for his ways with Cool Whip and connections to the S&M gay scene where he spun dark electroid dance records to relax after a busy week. After a life-changing neon disco encounter with label owner and Russian spy Lijesha Orlov, Agent Starling discovered his lunar side and reinvented himself as 'spaceship DJ'. Ever since, he makes crowds go wild at parties in London, Barcelona and Berlin where he was last seen amongst the resident DJs at the Villa Club, and now the time has come for the King Kong Klub to take off into space.
Here's two recent Starling mixes to keep you spaced out until then:

NAKS
EUROPEAN MAN
+++++++
An evening of robot grooves and intergalactic disco,
of playback fantasies and sleazy jack traxx,
of synthesizer symphonies and machine melodramas,
of electronic transmissions from a distant past.
With a deep nostalgia for the neon-lit future,
emitting wistful waves of arpeggiated emotion,
evoking VHS visions of victorious vocoders,
and basking in the blissful glow of cosmic love.
