Description

On Sat April 9th Phonica Records return to Corsica Studios for the first time since their huge 7th birthday party back in October. The first Phonica party of 2011 sees an inspired collaboration with the excellent Aus Records label - sister label of Simple records - and the label head, Will Saul. Between the two a ridiculously good line up has been assembled and we’ll be treated to a masterclass in deep house and techno.
Headlining the Phonica room, we are super excited to have the enigmatic and elusive Frenchman Pépé Bradock. Pépé is responsible for some of the wildest, most creative house records of the last decade and - in an increasingly formalised genre - he remains a dependably surprising presence. Renowned for his unique and unpredictable sets he’s never afraid to test uncharted waters and take us into obscure areas where others fear to tread. Keeping things deep and dark, also lined up is Novel Sounds’ main man, Levon Vincent to deliver some of his trademark Late Night Jams. This will be his first visit to Corsica and with his productions perfectly bridging the gap between NYC and Berlin where better to see him join the dots? The Phonica DJ’s will also be on hand to provide us with the best sounds that pass through the store.
Over in the Aus camp – and forming the perfect link between the two labels – fast-rising star Midland commences proceedings. Having seriously impressed at the last Phonica bash he’s definitely one to watch in 2011. Next up is the force of nature known as Ramadanman. This young man is currently at the top of his game and his exquisitely crafted productions continue to raise the bar. Tonight, he’ll be taking us into deeper house territory in his Pearson Sound incarnation and we should look forward to some classic selections along with his latest productions and re-fixes. The whole night will be topped of with Aus Music and Simple Records chief Will Saul, who’ll be flying the flag for his excellent imprint. This is most definitely not a line-up to be missed!
