Heg Doughty
Heg's music takes you on a journey through intimate snapshots of life to epic tales of the stormy Atlantic. Born and raised in the South West of England, she grew up on a diet of musicals, pop and folk, all of which have found a place within her piano based songs. During her time studying at Dartington College of Arts, Heg began to inject storytelling into her songs, finding inspiration in her family tree, well known and not-so-well-known stories. Since then, she has begun to develop her sound exploring the possibilities of acapella voices which still encompass the dramatic, story-telling theme that runs thickly within the music.
This year Heg is joined by her newly formed ensemble, The Wolf Chorus - an entourage of voices, strings and percussion. 2011 will mark the release of her new EP which will feature The Wolf Chorus who help to create the dramatic sound Heg is aiming for. Heg is currently living in Bristol and continues to gig around the UK.

Dollboy
Dollboy have been issuing records on various labels since 2004 and are soon to release their fifth album. The sound has morphed and flowed from warm, still, electronic water music to electric psychedelic wig-out but always with an unabashed English sensibility and a clear love of melody. Reviews often name check Robert Wyatt, Kevin Ayres, Syd Barret, Eno and even National Health, putting them down at the English Quirks end of the Venn diagram.
Featuring a stripped back acoustic lineup they'll be previewing new songs from the forthcoming album, Further Excursions Into The Ulu With Dollboy and playing some highlights from the previous four:
Plans for a Modern City (2004 Different Drummer)
Casual Nudism (2006 Arable Records)
A Beard of Bees (2009 Static Caravan)
Ghost Stations (2010 Second Language)

Josephine Lloyd
Josephine Lloyd started writing and recording her songs in her teens, with a broken recording machine and a karaoke microphone. Her songs are quirky and spellbinding, spanning genre influences from folk to classical to world to experimental music. Her use of unusual instrument combinations create a unique sound world for each song, and her live shows leave you mesmerised, with her and her multi-instrumentalist band playing anything from African harp, to violin, to tap shoes, to diy music boxes, with lush 4 part harmonies and heart-wrenching performances.
"Isn't that like something you haven't quite ever heard before?!" - Tom Robinson, BBC 6Music
