Description
NYC's tropical Bass ambassadors, Geko Jones and Uproot Andy are celebrating the third anniversary of their highly acclaimed Que Bajo parties at Le Poisson Rouge, Saturday Nov 5th.
To help them celebrate they've called upon two past Que Bajo favorites who fit most naturally at the party to join the residents in a 4 DJ rapid-fire rotation on a 4 turntable set up. Firstly DJ Orion, a prolific DJ/Producer who's infamous Peligrosa parties in Austin, Texas rep the Tropical Bass sound in the south and have become like a home away from home for the Que Bajo boys, and secondly Chief Boima, DJ/Producer of the Dutty Artz crew, one half of Banana Clipz, contributor to the important Ghetto Bassquake blog and former resident of Little Baobab club in San Francisco.
Founded in 2008 by Uproot Andy and Geko Jones, the NYC tropical dance party Que Bajo has been influential in changing the sound of NYC nightlife. Fusing afro-latin folkloric music with modern electronic music Que Bajo has garnered a considerable reputation, influencing and inspiring other such nights in different cities and countries, and keeping the residents busy with full tour schedules. Nominated for 'Best Party' in the 2010 Paper Magazine Nightlife Awards and named by Timeout NY as NYC's Top Latin Underground Party, Que Bajo continues to host many of the young artists and DJs on the cutting edge of these new sounds, such as El Guincho, Dave Nada, Toy Selectah, Choc Quib Town, Maluca, Zizek, Radioclit, Bersa Discos, Munchi, and DJ Rupture.
