ALEX WINSTON

Originally from Detroit, Alex Winston sings in the international language of pure joy, producing a giddy, heart-stopping sound – propulsive percussion, eerie harmonies & soaring choruses can be found in swathes. However, beneath that Sixties pop-tinged soul exuberance lie hidden depths inspired by books and documentaries about marginal subcultures in America.

Having recently supported Edward Sharpe and Magnetic Zeroes and Gotye and played a string of UK festivals in the summer including Bestival, V and Underage, we are very excited to welcome Alex to the Hare & Hounds for the first time.

VOWS

Hailing from the Midlands, VOWS are the result of an experiment with complex arrangements, mixed with knife sharp guitar lines and filtered through with a pop sensibility. They’ve shared stages with MONA, Various Cruelties and recently Brazil’s CSS — as well as hosting their own gig nights dubbed the ‘Polo Parties’; giving and forming an intimacy with other local musicians.

VOWS make a point of experimenting with the varied influences they’ve grown up with rather than to merely imitate them. It is this fresh perspective that has driven them to where they are now and will continue to fuel their advances into the future.
