Description

Richard Dawson
Richard’s autumn UK tour doesn’t take in Leeds, so he’s making a special trip down to Wharf Chambers, after what will no doubt be another storming set of performances including October’s TUSK Festival. With recently released album, The Glass Trunk, based on archived stories from the North-East, and another record planned along the way, Richard has a new collection of songs under his belt. Both brutal and heart-wrenching, he has a totally unique delivery, offsetting the intensity of his songs with a wry wit. Best catch him now before the world ends.

Zomes
Baltimore's Zomes is the current project of Lungfish guitarist Asa Osborne. Zomes omits some of the bombast but none of the majesty of his former band, filtering burly drum machine and hypnotic, meditative keyboards through a woozy four-track haze. Most recent album "Time Was" (Thrill Jockey) added Hanna Olivegren on vocals, her crystal clear delivery turns out to be the perfect foil for the heavy hum of organs and pianos, sometimes meshing together and sometimes dancing around each other.

Rattle
Two drum kits, two girls, two good. Featuring Katy from Kogumaza and Theresa from Fists. Minimal rhythms interlocked with ethereal melodies.

McWatt
This pair of ne’er-do-wells have been quietly enchanting locals and outsiders with their impressionistic shanties and dirges for gone ten years. This is a comparatively rare opportunity to see their accordion/double bass/flute balancing act whilst they’re working up tunes for a new album.
