It’s been 4 long years but now OZOMATLI return. The ultimate LA party boys, who have blown the roof off Bluesfest heaps of times, are back to partify the East Coast in three ‘dance yer arse off’ sideshows.

Their music- a notorious ‘urban-Latino-and-beyond’ collision of hip hop and salsa, dancehall and cumbia, samba and funk, merengue and comparsa, East LA R&B and New Orleans second line, Jamaican ragga and Indian raga- is sure to have you dancing all night.

Their music has never fit into just one genre and neither has their approach to performing. Proudly born as a multi-racial crew in post-uprising 90s Los Angeles, OZOMATLI has built a formidable reputation over five full-length studio albums and 19 years of relentless touring and taking party rocking so seriously that it becomes new school musical activism. Starting off as hometown heroes playing in the street of Los Angeles, these culture-mashers went on to become U.S. State Department Cultural Ambassadors, the first western band to play in Nepal (to 14,000 people) & Mongolia (to 25,000 people), headlining the Hollywood Bowl three times and even officially having their own day named after them by the City of LA – April 23 is OZOMATLI DAY.

From his days growing up on the hardscrabble streets of Chicago’s south side, to his subsequent explosion onto Los Angeles’ burgeoning hip-hop scene, to his tenure as MC for seminal hip-hop group Jurassic 5, and his front-man duties for Ozomatli , Chali 2na epitomizes the portrait of a 21st century artist.

His collaborations with the likes of the Hilltop Hoods, Black Eyed Peas, Raphael Saadiq, Linkin Park, Damien & Stephen Marley, Anthony Hamilton, Beenie Man and Mos Def on his ‘Fish Outta Water’ and ‘Mixtape Series’ have ensured that, with his unmistakable, beloved baritone, Chali 2na has firmly established himself as one of the most distinctive, charismatic personalities not just in hip-hop, but music in general.
