Bob Mould

Het muzikaal avontuur van Bob Mould begon in 1979 met de oprichting van punkrock band Hüsker Dü. In 1988 zette Mould de eerste stappen van zijn solocarrière met zijn eerste soloalbums ‘Workbook’ en ‘Black Sheets of Rain’. Daarna richtte hij het trio Sugar op waarmee hij de wereld afreisde.

In 1996 besloot Bob Mould opnieuw solo te gaan. Die tweede solocarrière omvatte voornamelijk ontzettend veel touren en de release van albums als ‘The Last Dog and Pony Show’.

Eerder dit jaar bracht hij het album ‘Beauty & Ruin’ uit, een emotionele rollercoaster. “It’s a song cycle. A narrative. It’s nobody’s story but my own... I ran so fast from my past that I caught up with myself. This album is acknowledging that and dealing with every year getting a little tougher.”

De invloeden van het vele touren én van zijn vaste bandleden Jason Narducy en Jon Wurster zijn terug te vinden op dat album. “After 13 months on four continents, making this album was a much faster process. The new album plays to our strengths as a three-piece. Jon, Jason, and I have been making music together for six years. During that time, we’ve identified and built upon the band’s strong suits.”
