Highly unique for a North American band, Automelodi proudly embraces the infinitely rich ground of French pop musical influences - including the legendary ‘Chanteurs’ of the ‘60s and ‘70s, classic French cold wave(aka ‘La Vague Froide’) and minimal synth, and early UK new wave.
Xavier Paradis combines evocations of obscure 80s/90s European electronic music with a modernist approach to production, dance, and pop music on the latest incarnations of his project Automelodi. Although the songs often shimmer, these motifs are contrasted by lyrical content that delves deep into the ultimate darkness of one’s inner life. As the sole Canadian Electric Voice artist, Xaavier resides in Montreal, Quebec where he has been shaping the electronic music scene for the last decade.
