Description

Ever since the chart successes of their last two albums "The Liberation" and "Ayam", Disillusion have been among the heavyweights of German metal. For fans of the first hour, of course, they always have been. And fans of the first hour came in good numbers. Disillusion's longplayer debut "Back To Times Of Splendor" was THE sensation within progressive melodic death in April 2004 and has set international standards. A virtuous concept album showing the whole range of emotions. Touching, almost fragile moments, brute outbursts - the genre boundaries melt away and everything flows together congenially in this epic masterpiece. On this record, Disillusion have shown what can be achieved dramaturgically out of brutal metal, creating an instant classic right at the beginning of their career.
“A milestone in the genre that continues to fascinate today.”

“This isn't a surprise: back in 2004, mastermind Andy Schmidt delivered perhaps the best German metal record of all time with BACK TO TIMES OF SPLENDOR," wrote Metal Hammer.

After the big European tour in 2022 with Obscura and Persefone, there is a new tour in 2024, just in time for the record's 20th birthday, where the band and fans can celebrate the wonderful times together - past and future. The band plays BACK TO TIMES OF SPLENDOR in full length, from start to finish and, as in the past, will appear on this tour with an expanded line-up that covers the stylistic range instrumentally.

FALL OF SERENITY

Good things come to those who wait. FALL OF SERENITY are back with a new album ten years after their reunion. Their split lasted from 2009 to 2012. For the last five-four, the quintet has been preparing the release of “Open Wide, O Hell“. Were the musicians inspired by their former bassist Linus Klausenitzer (ALKALOID, OBSIDIOUS, OBSCURA/FALL OF SERENITY 2008-2009), who released his solo debut “Tulpa” in the fall of 2023? Maybe!

“Open Wide, O Hell” is also variably written and comes up with a good dose of surprises. The basis of the album still lies in melodic death metal, which is associated with the East German band founded in 1998. But a black metal impact is also to be attributed to the new song material and changes the musical face decisively. Besides, impressive melodies continue to lead FALL OF SERENITY through their songs. Quite a few of the tracks are true headbangers.

THE FRIGHT

Lon, a teenager from Jena, founded The Fright in 2002, influenced by his passion for horror movies and his older brother's introduction to punk rock. Starting with horror punk, the band's musical direction has evolved into a heavier, darker sound with elements of pop and catchy melodies. After touring Europe with bands like 69 Eyes and Blitzkid, and sharing the stage with acts like Lacrimas Profundere and Hardcore Superstar, The Fright has released six albums and is currently working on new singles, including "Dark," "Miles," "Collision," and "Hellraiser." Guitarist Chris North confirms that there will definitely be a follow-up album and that the band is getting ready for more live performances. The future looks promising for fans of dark and heavy music.
