PAT AND TREVOR PRESENTS: Leafcutter John + Seb Rochford (Nails) + Capitol K + Room of Katinas

Having previously organised events at the ICA and Whitechapel Gallery, Pat
And Trevor have taken up residence at The Sassoon Gallery in Peckham. On
Friday 21st November they welcome Leafcutter John, Seb Rochford and Capitol
K to the gallery for the second in a series of nights of curatorial
experimentalism.

*LEAFCUTTER JOHN / SEB ROCHFORD - NAILS

John Burton, aka Leafcutter John, is a musician and a man who used to live
with Seb Rochford. He also plays as part of Polar Bear and makes noises with
balloons. John has just finished making his first home made guitar. He will
be playing his set alongside Seb Rochford - the project is called Nails.
Although nobody is really sure what to expect, this is set to be a very
special performance, being the first time they have performed it together in
England, and only the second time in the World.

*CAPITOL K*

Capitol K is a musician and a man who used to play with Leafcutter John
(Leafcutter John played guitar in Capitol K's band). Sonic tourism,
detournement (deviation of course), psycho geographic wandering, found
sound, and tropical fantasy all influence his music, which comprises of deft
electronics, falsetto vocals, guitar and tape noises.

In recent years, he has spent much of his time living, writing and recording
in squats and places soon to be demolished. The recordings collected from
this period have resulted in his 5th album, Notes from life on the wire with
a wrecking ball, which has been very well received.

*ROOM OF KATINAS*

Room of Katinas is probably the most unique of all Seb Rochford's projects
in that he sings and plays acoustic guitar. The other players are Amanda
Drummond (viola), Tom Herbert (drums) and John Burton, aka Leafcutter John
(vocal) - bringing the collaboration full circle. This music started in the
room of ruta katinas in Hoboken, NJ.

people" is the answer.

Seb was born and raised on an oil rig off the coast of Aberdeen and has 6
toes as a result. He leads the band Polar Bear, as well as playing drums
with Fulborn Teversham, Acoustic Ladyland, and countless others. He won the
BBC Jazz Award for best newcomer in 2004, and has also been nominated for
the Mercury Prize on two occasions.
