Description

The annual Göteborg Culture Festival on 14–19 August offers a vibrant mix of culture and music. Two giant stages, one beside the Opera House on the waterfront and the other at Götaplatsen Culture Centre, link the festival together via Avenyn, the city’s main boulevard. The Festival also includes the Liseberg amusement park.
Everybody is invited to the annual Göteborg Culture Festival. This year it will run for six days, from Tuesday 14 to Sunday 19 August.

During the festival, Göteborg will provide a packed programme of top-class entertainment on stages and venues in the heart of the city.
There’ll be more than ten festival venues, all located within walking distance. The Göteborg Culture Festival offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, music for all ages, a lively cultural scene, open air dance floors, restaurants, various activities to try out, a special kids’ party in a downtown park, and an art and crafts market.

And best of all – admission is free to all the festival venues.

A wide selection of food and drink will be on offer throughout the festival. Take a seat at one of the many restaurants along the way or grab something tasty on the run.´
This year’s festival features several new elements including dance, theatre and performers including:
Vive La Fête from Belgium, whose style is described: “kind of like, if you took an ‘80s pop sample, a bit of cold wave, the best kind of electronica, a smidgen of rock and the voice and lyrics of ‘60s French songstresses under the influence of Serge Gainsbourg... and then shook them all up.”
The Finlay MacDonald Band from Scotland brings together the tightest of jazz, funk grooves with blistering traditional and contemporary tunes on pipes and fiddle.
The Australian performing arts company Strange Fruit produces and performs a remarkable style of work that fuses theatre, dance and circus, using a unique elevated medium.
And many, many more…
Welcome to The Göteborg Culture Festival!!!
