THE 6th annual CHILL OUT FESTIVAL in association with Société Perrier takes place on APRIL 20 and 21 at Media City Amphitheatre featuring brit rock sensation The Kooks, american hip hop legends De La Soul, french-algerian rai artist Rachid Taha and many other live bands, DJs and performance artists.
Over the past six years the Chill Out Festival has hosted a diverse range of artists in Dubai ranging from grammy winning pop artists to up and coming international and local acts. Some of the past highlights include neo-soul diva Erykah Badu, Royksopp, Thievery Corporation, Kruder and Dorphmeister, Stephane Pompognac, Jalebee Cartel, Cinematic Orchestra, Cobblestone Jazz, Hot Chip, Talvin Singh, Sphongle, REG Project, Matthew Herbert, Mark Farina and Jazzanova.
The Chill Out Festival has solidified its status as one of the top leading outdoor music festivals. With its diverse selection of artists and music genres the event offers a refreshing alternative to the music scene in the region with a combination of world class Live Acts, DJs, VJs and MCs. Moreover the Chill Out festival is a perfect event for people of all ages including families and children with several activities like the Jam Jar art studio, Chill Out Spa, Acro Yoga, Drum Circle and several food and beverage stalls.
This years event sees The Chill Out Festival take to the cityscape surroundings of Media City, set amongst the park at the media city amphitheatre, 12 live acts will perform across the stage over 2 days. With headlines The Kooks, De La Soul and Rachid Taha. Supported by international acts and local acts Tony Allen, Shaa’ir & Func, Noosh Like Sploosh and Heinz Kahler, RobinSukroso, In Transit, Hirabeat, Rachael Calladine & The Everyday People, Employees of The Month, Shelley Frost featuring Khalil Ghandri & Pasha, Nikotin, Nik Uzi and Royden (Point of View), Hamdan Al-Abri, Nikhi Muhki & Rony Afif and MC Ollywood.
2012 also marks a split in the programming of the Chill Out Festival - with live bands playing from 4pm to 11pm at Media City Amphitheatre and DJs and electronic artists Protoje, Magnetic Man and Moodyman playing from 11pm to 3am at Club Trilogy in Souk Madinat Jumeirah. Chill Out ticket holders will receive free entry into Trilogy and additional tickets will be available on the door.
