Description

B’ESTFEST is the first Romanian international festival recognized in the music industry as one of the biggest events of its kinds in Central and Eastern Europe. It actually was the only Romanian music festival included in the Top 20 European Festivals (Times, 2009 & Guardian, 2011).

B’ESTFEST also became a representative cultural brand for Romania, bringing over 200 artists from all around the world in front of more than 200, 000 people!

The story started in 2007, with a line-up that included 30 artists, amongst which Morcheeba, Faithless, Kasabian, Pink, Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, Wu-Tang Clan. The 2008 edition brought an extra stage, an extra day (AFTERSHOCK), and was headlined by acts such as Alanis Morissette, Cypress Hill, UNKLE, Kaiser Chiefs, Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics, Nelly Furtado, Manu Chao, Roisin Murphy and Judas Priest. In 2009, B’ESTFEST added another day, DAY ZERO, which kicked off with an amazing show performed by The Killers and continued over the next four days with flamboyant performances from Santana, Orbital, Moby, Motorhead, Franz Ferdinand, Gabriella Cilmi, The Charlatans, Manowar and many others.

After its first edition, B’ESTFEST became a member of Yourope, the European festival industry association, and also part of ETEP (European Talent Exchange Program). After winning a place in the finals of the UK Festival Awards – UK’s Oscars for the event industry – B’ESTFEST 2009 also received a nomination in the „Best Medium Size Festival” category at the European Festival Awards.

2010 brought the first big change for B’ESTFEST. Under a different name, Ciuc Summer Fest 2010 by B’ESTFEST, this was the first time that the festival did not take place on the Romexpo concrete grounds. This change allowed the festival to explore a new direction focused not only on music, but also on different other ways to entertain the public: theater plays, photos and paintings exhibitions, vintage fairs, urban clothing and hand made accessories shops, pantomime moments and strolling players.

B’ESTFEST returned in 2011 with a new concept and a new direction offering to the public: three full days of experience and total freedom in a brand new location, on a green field that turned over night into a fun town named B’ESTFEST Park. Not only the change of venue was the novelty of this new episode of B’ESTFEST, but the whole concept around which the entire new festival was built. Turned into a Summer Camp, B’ESTFEST greeted the public not only with live music, but also with many other activities: a real amusement park for all ages, film screenings, sports areas, playgrounds, relaxation, creative activities, art exhibitions, bazaars, workshops, terraces and a camping area! After 2011 edition, a new achievement has been included in B’ESTFEST’s resume: the nomination at UK Festival Awards for Best Overseas Festival alongside: Coachella Festival (USA), Lollapalooza (United States), Dour (Belgium), Exit(Serbia), Lowlands (Netherlands), Pinkpop (Holland) or Spirit of Burgas (Bulgaria).

Continuing the tradition launched in 2011, the festival took place in the same location: B’ESTFEST Park Tunari. B’ESTFEST Summer Camp was incluled among the “must see” festivals of the year by publications such as The Guardian, Travelbite or Bakpakguide and also received two important nominations for Best Overseas Festival at UK Festival Awards and Best Medium-Sized Festival at European Festival Awards. In addition, publications like DJ Mag, Artrocker Magazine or Mixmag were present at B’ESTFEST during the three days of the festival making event reviews and prising the concept and the experience.

After six summers with music, excitement, joy, smiles, dancing and fun, B’ESTFEST prepares an anniversary edition as the festival is celebrating its 7 years of existence! The ticket prices will also be more appeling only 150 lei (approx. 34 euro) for a three day pass, offering access to another round of great live performances, crazy parties, lots of extra activities and of course, more fun!
