Well, agree, those ones are really interesting. For me, the best are "Schlagschatten" and "Dark Inheritance".

Hm. The new album is alright. At least they changed their sound a bit. Dunkelziffer and Trauma Ritual were just a bit too repetitive. But... I don't think it grabs me that much. Hell, last album I really liked by them was Icon Koru anyway. After that it has been awfully average for me. I just seem to listen more to their earlier stuff in general. That stuff is a lot more memorable and less commercial. I liked that Johan Van Roy featured track. Sounded a lot like Suicide Commando anyway. Not sure whats the point of a version without Johan (Album Version) but oh well.

Angel From Above from the Trauerland tape is one of my secret favorites. Such a beautiful symphonic track. No Reason To Live is another excellent track. :) New single sounds interesting. I am undecided whether I like the new adjusted sound just as much as their music from before. But I agree that they had to step up their game since I found Dunkelziffer and Trauma Ritual very similar and a bit too monotonous. Miscreed sounds really cool though! Probably because of Johan Van Roy's sound influence. Reminded me a lot of the new Suicide Commando stuff.

Do you have digitally these tapes then? I'd love to hear Trauerland or Atomic, or any tape that was released in such time. Sadly not whole material was released on "Early Works 1996-1999" CD from ICON:KORU Deluxe edition, so if you upload any of these tapes, I'd be really thankful

Lately I totally drown in not SITD music itself, but SITD remixes.. I love these guys for original works, but I can't believe how perfect *every* their remix is. Solitary Experiments, ES23, Faderhead, Rotersand, Eisbrecher, Pride and Fall, Aesthetic Perfection, Suicide Commando, Project Pitchfork.. and it's just list of what comes to my mind in first moment.

Indeed, I totally agree. For me the best remixes are for Electronic World Transmission by Rotersand, Todesengel by Painbastard and Wake Up by Pzychobitch.

Well, looks like i should have explained better. SITD remixes of other bands' song is just what I meant in fact, all of those 3 I mentioned are SITD remixes of other bands.

Finally after a long time I gave Dunkelziffer another chance and it gets better and better. I like Everlasting (great melancholic atmosphere perfect for november), Santa Muerte (I like the futuristic atmosphere of the first seconds and then the robotic vocals, also perfect for november), Vendetta and Memorandum as best. Others like Autoaggression are also good. Icon:Koru also gets better and so far Coded Message: 12 is still my favourite of them. The Odyssey:13 EP (the song Firmament is a big recommendation) and the song Decoy (with The Retrosic) from the Richtfest EP are also great. Stronghold, Rot and partly Bestie:Mensch also have great moments.

Recently decided to check some new bands in my beloved genre and came across these guys, and... I bet this is one of the best music discoveries in years! Listening to "Laughingstock", "Locked In Syndrom", "Displaced", "Snuff Machinery" I realized, that, after so long, I've finally found a worthy alternative to no longer existing Wynardtage! Though Shadows in the Dark sound different, they use (at least along songs I've mentioned) similar sound scheme as later Wynardtage: strong synth-filled melancholic atmosphere with not a bit less strong beat-line. I... just nearly lost any hope to find something else like that, and, at last, my search is a success! Definitely, one more band to my best-of-the-best list.

Know your feeling, bro, as I had similar feeling while discovering Wynardtage. "Finally something like my beloved SITD, oh god, I was just losing my hope". Both were great surprise for me years ago, so it's nice you also found Shadows In The Dark. By the way, I recommend so much overlooked album "Kreuzgang" (quasi-split with Painbastard), it has my all-time favourite called "Atonement" which seems to be not-known at all. Wish you good time with SITD. :)

By the way, tried Atonement. Thanks for a hint mate, this is really brilliant, among best of [:SITD:] for me.

After a complete trip through the whole discorgaphy decided to search for some compilation-only tracks of [:SITD:] and found Area 51 [2K6], 2006 version of early demo track Area 51 (Atomic CDr) from Accession Records Volume 3 compilation and... jeez, this track deserves much more love!

same about Atonement but I also like the single version of Kreuzgang and the Rotersand Remix.

New album is really surprising. It's (again) not moving much forward and staying with this typical [:SITD:]-ish style, but I feel some fresh air here and there. For sure my favourite album released after ICON:KORU. And maybe I'm the only one, but is it quite unlucky that "Genesis" was chosen to be promo track? I think it's probably the only song which is typical and not-original-at-all song on album - I mean, it doesn't show anything new in sound and this album have some to show. "Zenit" is really diversified and atmospheric, I enjoyed also "Companion" so much.

Honestly I'm glad. I fucking love SITD and I'm tired of bands doing this radical change over time that results in something that I no longer enjoy because it's not anything like what I got into them for. Key example? Apoptygma Berzerk dude I LOVE their older stuff, their new stuff is like rock...I hate it.

Yeah, exactly. Experiments are good, but too often they just destroys what band has done before, without giving anything really good instead. So I'm glad bands like [:SITD:] or CygnosiC exists and give us something only a bit new, without changing its sound to totally different grounds. By the way, if you don't know them, I highly recommend this second mentioned band. :)

As for me, Mundlos, Companion and Elegie are very good, but Puls:Schlag and Incenduim are best for me on this album.

Is it just me or some tracks of Brother Death [2016 Scanner] are artificially slowed down, if they could be speedier in 10-15% they would sound much better

New release reminds me a lot of Dunkelziffer but better. Nothing negative to say about it. Dunkelziffer was generally a bit too plain to me. Only the album naming track Dunkelziffer really stood out to me.

Exactly. Even title tracks on Dunkelziffer and Brother Death are quite similar in some kind of atmosphere and this EP one seems to be a bit better. And about Dunkelziffer album, nice to see we share similar feelings - it was nice, but too homogeneous in some parts. Except title track I really like "Memorandum" from it.

Exactly the same two best songs for me too. Everlasting sounds melancholic with the atmosphere in the background and Tom's vocals who is perfectly fitting for this kind of song. This song and Santa Muerte are perfect for november. I like the robotic sounding vocals in the verses of Santa Muerte and the somehow futuristic sounding atmosphere. The very atmospheric Vendetta and Memorandum are also great for me.

Autoaggression is sounds like Displaced from Bestie:Mensch. [2] I'm (not) confused. But "Purgatorium" and "Everlasting" are awesome :3 .

"Everlasting" on the new album shows once more that Tom is by far the better vocalist than Carsten, but then again I also like Carsten's cold vocals. I don't know why, they never did much new on every album they released but they're still one of my most favourite modern ebm bands. Coded Message: 12 is still my favourite album, followed by Stronghold and Rot and the EPs Odyssey:13 and Richtfest. The other albums always have some great songs on it, but also some filler tracks.

The 2nd cd of Icon:Koru with the reworks is one of the best ebm cds ever. Most of their work is quite good, but that cd is AMAZING.

I like this band too. Know them already for a long time. The new album is as always. Not boring as some may say. Its good. but thats all. Not more not less. But the problem that I always had with SITD is that they have some amazing earworm tracks and the rest of the album tracks is 08/15. That is the problem I think. Nevertheless. I like them.
