Biography

Vadim Eilenkrig was born in Moscow. Mother - Eilenkrig Alina Yakovlevna (born on June 7, 1946, Moscow). Father - Eilenkrig Sima Lvovich (born March 8, 1940, Moscow) - saxophonist, worked as director of Joseph Davydovich Kobzon and Lyudmila Markovna Gurchenko.

He graduated from music school № 1 in Moscow. Prokofiev in the piano class. When Vadim studied at a music school, he took a second instrument, but, contrary to the wishes of his parents, he chose not a saxophone but a pipe. In the second year of training in the pipeline, he becomes a winner of the Moscow Trumpet Competition. In 1986 he entered the Musical College of the October Revolution (now the Schnittke College in Moscow) in an academic tube class. In 1990 he entered the State University of Culture and Arts in Moscow, where he moved from the branch of wind instruments to the jazz department. In 1995 he was invited as a soloist in the Big Band MGUKI for the International Jazz Festival in Torgau (Germany), where he became a laureate. After graduation he played in the best jazz orchestras in Moscow: ISS Big Band by Anatoly Kroll, orchestra n / a Oleg Lundstrem, Big Band of the Moscow State Institute Gnesin.

In 1996 he created his first solo project: the XL band. At the same time, he began experimenting with electronic music styles and was the first in Moscow to start playing with DJs. In 1997 he graduated from the State Academy of Music with the name of Maimónides.

From 1999 to 2010 he was a soloist of Igor Butman's big band.

Since 2000 - Associate Professor of the Department of Jazz Music in the Faculty of World Music Culture of the State Classical Academy named after Maimonides, since 2016 - Head of the Department.

In 2006, he participated in the concert "Jazz Plus Classic" at Rose Hall in New York.

In 2008 he became the winner of the Second International Jazz Festival of Chimkent (Kazakhstan).

In 2009, Vadim, together with the show's director Timur Rodriguez, created the jazz project The Jazz Hooligunz.

Also in 2009, the Igor Butman label "Butman Music" released their first solo album "La sombra de tu sonrisa". In the recording of the album, they participated stars of the world-wide jazz like Hyrum Bullock, Wil Lee, Chris Parker, David Garfield and Randy Brecker of The Brecker Brothers.

Cooperated with Larissa Valle, Sergei Mazaev, Dmitry Malikov, group "Umaturman" and t. D. participated in the records of the "Lube" group "Stark", Pascal and t. D.

In 2013 he became the host of the television project "Big Jazz" on the television channel "Cultura".

Three years after the release of the first album came second album - «EILENKRIG» (BUTMAN Music Records), with the participation of several well-known musicians: Alan Harris, Virgil Donati, Douglas Shreve, Igor Butman, Anton Baronina, Dmitry Mospan. The album reached the fourth line of the Russian in the iTunes (Top 200 of the jazz charts) and the 1st place in Armenia (200 best songs of Armenia All Graphic Genre).

In 2016 he became co-host and conductor of the orchestra in the jubilee season of the show "Dancing with the Stars" on the Russia1 channel.
