Biography
Dimitar Taralejkov (Димитър Таралежков) is a Bulgarian bard musician.
He was born in Bourgas, Bulgaria and has studied Directing at the New Bulgarian University, Sofia. While still a student, Taralejkov starts writing and performing his own music on acoustic guitar. Soon enough he is the author of more than 30 songs and receives the debut POKI Award (POKI is for "Poets with Guitar Award" in Bulgarian) for the best bard musician at the Festival in Harmanli, Bulgaria.
In 2004 Taralejkov becomes famous by winning the Documentary Award at the International Short Film Festival in Balchik with the short “Taralejkov’s Bourgas”. He is a co-founder of the cinema studio “Bidon Film”.
Taralejkov is an independent musician. He is known for his frivolous guitar playing and humorous and philosophical songs which often have a deep social subtext.
