Biography
Дубовый Гаайъ (Duboviy Gaai, en. Oak Gaai) (other names - Duboviy Band, DuGa) is a Soviet and Russian musical underground rap rock group founded by Andrei Lysikov a.k.a. Dolphin (Дельфин) and Andrei Savchenko a.k.a. Hans Holman. The group was a huge success among lovers of non-commercial music and influenced young people with dark music and dark philosophical lyrics, which left an indelible imprint on Dolphin's work.
It is considered one of the first alternative rock bands in Russia.
At the beginning of their career, the group was called "Alien Pat. Holman”, in 1991 it was renamed “Duboviy Gaai”. Initially, the group played in the style of instrumental hip-hop, later the music and lyrics of the group came down to the style of alternative rap, rapcore, psychedelic and alternative rock. In 1996 Dolphin and Mikhail Voinov left Duboviy Gaai. As a result, the band radically changed their style of music.
