HaClique (The Clique) was an Israeli New wave band formed in 1980.

Dani Dothan - Vocals and Lyrics.
Eli Abramov - Guitar and Melodies.
Ovad Efrat - Bass.
Jean-Jacques Goldberg - Drums and Percussion.

HaClique was formed in Tel Aviv in 1980 by Dani Dothan and Eli Abrmov both originally from Jerusalem.
The band's debut album "אמא אני לא רוצה להיגמל" (Mother, I Don't Want to be Weaned) was released in 1981 after a year of performing and touring. It was a concept album, a rock opera about the expected life of a human from before birth until after death.
The first three years were characterized by theatrical stage shows, heavy makeup, black nail polish and lipstick.

Their debut album wasn't a big commercial success, but the first 1,500 sells marked the breakthrough of the alternative music in Israel. People came to shows with black clothes and make-up.

In 1983, after the joining of keyboardist Rona Vered, they released their second album "עולם צפוף" (Crowded World).
HaClique played mainly in Tel Aviv at the "Dan Cinema" Club, but also in Jerusalem and Haifa the same year. Dani Dothan assumed people would come to Tel Aviv to see them perform. The shows gained much success, but band members thought they were not getting the proper exposure and recognition they wanted. With time the band decreased its making in the music industry, and the musical revolution leaning on antisocial contents remained on two albums.

In 1988 the band reformed for three concerts at the "Real Time" Club. The reunion gained much success but band members returned to their activities.

In 2002 a box set including three CD's was released, the box included their two older albums and another CD of New and Unreleased materials.

In 2004 the band declared another reunion tour, adding a fifth band member, Keyboardist יסמין אבן.

On December 28, 2006 Jean-Jacques Goldberg passed away, after a two year struggle with cancer.
This terminated plans by the band and hopes by the fans of a reunion and the recording of a new album.
