Biography
غادة شبير {Ghada Shbeir} is a Lebanese singer, specialising in traditional Middle Eastern folk and Arabo Andalusian songs, Syriac and Ancient Maronite chants.
After graduation from high school, Shbeir moved to the USEK (Universite St Esprit - Kaslik - Lebanon) to pursue a career in music. Her big break came as a soloist in the USEK choir. After earning an advanced degree with high distinction in traditional Arabic music performance, Shbeir received her Master's degree in musicology from the same university. She became a professor of traditional Arabic singing techniques at the USEK, AlMuwashshah singing techniques at the Lebanese University, and sacred Syriac chants at the National Conservatory of Lebanon.
Furthermore, she participated in several festivals, concerts and conventions. She has also worked with Enchordais for five years. During this period, she performed in many concerts and festivals, in addition to recording a CD of traditional Arabic music with Enchordais. She is working, not exclusively, with Zaman Production, in France to organise concerts in Europe.
