Cherish is a Japanese folk band comprised of Yoshitaka Matsuzaki and Etsuko Matsuzaki, a husband and wife duo from Aichi Prefecture.

Formed in Nagoya in 1968 by Yoshitaka Matsuzaki. Originally a four-member group, Etsuko Matsui (currently Etsuko Matsuzaki) joined in 1970 and became a five-member group.

Popular for their pure melodies and singing ability that can be enjoyed by men and women of all ages . The group's name is derived from the 1966 hit song of the same name by the American band "Association".

The 1st music contest "Vitalis Folk Village National Folk Music Festival National Convention" held in conjunction with Nippon Broadcasting 's radio music program "Vitalis Folk Village" ( June 6, 1971 , Hibiya Grand Music Hall) as a representative of the Chubu region, and won the Grand Prix with "恋人達と" (lyrics and composition: Yoshitaka Matsuzaki). This song is recorded live at the venue on the LP "'71 National Folk Music Festival National Tournament" (JVC, standard product number : SF-1008), and before the song, the host announces the names of the five members. In addition, a studio recording version arranged by Shunichi Makaino was included in the first album " なのにあなたは京都へゆくの" released in the same year.
