Biography
Maruyama Ryuhei (丸山隆平), born November 26, 1983), is a member of the popular Japanese boyband Kanjani8, part of Johnny's Entertainment. He is the bassist of Kanjani8 and SUBARU BAND.
Ryuhei, commonly known as Maru, was born to a family of two bodybuilders in Kyoto, Japan. At age 13, his father sent in an application for him to JE, which earned him an audition, and in turn gave him a position in Johnny's Entertainment. Before the formation of Kanjani8, Maru was active as a memeber of the band V.WEST. After the debut of Kanjani8, the group's popularity grew, and Maru is widely known as the basist and funny man of the group. Due to his increasing fame, Maru has recently been added to the list of regulars of a TV show, which airs once a week.
