Biography

Daikoku Danji (大国男児) is the Japanese name of the Korean group Dae Guk Nam Ah (대국남아). The band is comprised of five members, formed under Open World Entertainment in 2010. In South Korea they are known as 대국남아, literally meaning 'The Boys of Super Space', which is also the translation of their Japanese name 大国男児 and how their English name of 'The BOSS' was formed. This name is mainly used outside of Korea.

All five members of The Boss were formerly members of Xing Entertainment and members of the generation band Xing with different stage names. This means that all of the members, despite joining Xing at different times, are all talented and experienced in the Korean music industry.

After being officially announced on January 28, 2010, The Boss debuted on March 4, 2010 with their song 'Admiring Boy' on Mnet Coundown. The Boss' fancafe exceeded 40,000 members in only a few months of their existence, overshining other popular fancafes such as that of fellow Korean band Brown Eyed Girls. On June 18, 2010, they performed a comeback on KBS2's Music Bank with 비틀비틀 (Biteul Biteul), also known as 'Stumble Stumble', after releasing the respective music video. They also went onto promote another hit, 아무도.. 그 누구도 (Nobody.. Anybody) in August 2010, but without a music video release this time.

After almost immediate overseas success in countries such as Thailand and China, The Boss are currently scheduled to spend some time in Japan to promote there, with aid of Japanese music company, Digital Adventure and Sony Music.

The contract with their agency ended in 2017. They reappeared on JTBC's TV show 'Peak Time' as team 23:00 consisting only of Karam, Injun and Jay.
