Zhang Jié (张杰), also known as Jason Zhang, born December 20, 1982 in Chengdu, Sichuan, China is a Chinese pop singer, songwriter, and actor. He debuted on May 15, 2005 with the album "第一张" (The First Album) and rose to fame through numerous televised singing competitions.

In 2004, Zhang Jie rose to fame after winning the first season of My Show (我型我秀) and was signed to Shang Teng Universal. His first single, 北斗星的爱 (Love of the Plough) earned Zhang numerous 'Newcomer' awards, such as the Global Chinese Music Chart Most Popular Male Newcomer award. After the release of his second album, Love Me Again (再爱我一回), Zhang's music career was at stake due to the top management changes of the record company.

In 2007, Zhang decided to take part in Hunan TV's famous show Super Boy. Zhang, the third runner-up of the show signed a deal with EE-Media had released an EP in the same year, which significantly marked a fresh restart of his career. Zhang has been regarded as one of the leading singers in the Chinese music industry as well as the most popular idol of the young generation in the Mainland China. At age 32, he has already recorded over 10 hit albums since 2004 and throughout his career has released 8 top hit singles in China which have received an average of over 112 million plays, with all of his concerts sold out. In January 2014, Zhang was invited to take part in I Am a Singer as the 'substitute' of Gary Chaw who was eliminated in Round 2 of Season 2. Although Zhang had not won the competition in the end, his performance has nevertheless won critical acclaim from many prominent musicians and singers and earned him a growing fan base. Zhang has been invited to perform in several major events such as CCTV Spring Festival Gala 2013 and Opening Ceremony of the Nanjing Youth Olympics 2014. In November 2014, Zhang was presented with the International Artist Award at the 2014 American Music Awards, making him the first Chinese singer who was awarded such award.
