教育 (Education, kyōiku) is the first studio album by japanese rock band Tokyo Incidents. It’s the only album to feature the original line-up and was fronted by the single 群青日和. The album starts with 林檎の唄 (Ringo No Uta), re-rendition of the scheduled last song in Shiina Ringo’s catalogue, with new arrangement and vocals. Said choice was to try to re-adapt the singer’s fanbase to her new artistic direction.
The album was released slightly more than a year after Ringo’s third solo album 加爾基 精液 栗ノ花 yet features very different style, a neat separation between the two careers.
“Education” was the most successful Jihen album selling a total of 305,000 copies. It also peaked at #2 in its debut week, despite being a turning page for Ringo.
The album is all written and (almost) composed entirely by the frontwoman.
