Kawashima Eigo (河島英五)was a singer, song writer and an actor. He was born in Higashi-Osaka in Osaka prefecture in Japan on the 23rd April 1952 and died a sudden death because of a liver disease after his oldest daughter wedding cerenomy 16th April 2001.

Kawashima Eigo began his career as a musician while the 1970s together with ホモ・サピエンス (Homo Sapiens). After they broke up he started his solo career. 酒と泪と男と女 (sake to namida to otoko to onna - Sake (alcohol) and tears and man and woman) is Kawashima Eigos most famous song. This song was coverd by 萩原健一 (Hagiwara Ken'ichi) and which was played at various music TV programms, but at the same time Kawashima Eigos version became more famous all over Japan, because it was used by a Sake producer from Kyoto as a TV commercial song.

Other famous songs are 野風増, 時代おくれ and 生きてりゃいいさ.
