Nami Tamaki (玉置成実, born June 1, 1988 in Wakayama, Japan) is a Japanese pop singer. Her songs are generally very upbeat and supported with a strong dance choreography as can be seen from her music videos. Her career took off when she was selected out of 5,000 people in the Sony Music Audition of 2001 to get a chance to start a musical career. In 2003 and at 15 years old she debuted with her single "Believe", which was used as the opening theme song for the Gundam Seed anime series. The song became a huge success in Japan and worldwide among anime fans, and gave her the 18th Annual Japan Gold Disc Award's "New Artist of the Year" award that same year. Nami's second album Make Progress, released in 2005, became her first musical release to achieve the first spot in the Japanese Oricon charts.

In 2009 she left her former label and signed to Universal Music Japan. Her first single in her new label, entitled "GIVE ME UP", was released on March 25. The title track is a Japanese cover of Michael Fortunati and was used as the 5th ending theme for the anime Yatterman.
