Biography
(val) Liam is the ambient & downtempo musings of Liam Skogland, composer and producer from Vancouver, BC.
As an avid listener of various forms of electronic and chill out music for several years, the need to reciprocate such vibes became inevitable. Since then, Liam has released multiple albums, EP's, and singles on compilations:
"Early Reflections (EP)" (2005) on Dewtone
"Daydreamer" (2009) on Celestial Dragon
"Dissolving Archetypes" (2012) on Beats & Pieces
Liam draws influences from other great ambient, psychill, and downtempo musicians such as Ishq, Harold Budd, Solar Fields, Aes Dana, Androcell, Shpongle, Younger Brother, and Bluetech.
Liam will be independently releasing four, 5-track EP's in 2014, corresponding with each season's solstice or equinox. Releases are scheduled for March, June, September, and December 2014. Each EP will have a distinct feel and seeks to explore the subtle changes in moods and energies as seasons change.
