I must say, contemporary Christian music doesn't appeal to me at all, but I grew up with - and love - a lot of the music of the Jesus Movement era. it all went downhill sometime in the late '80s

The first song I ever heard as a newly spirit-filled Christian was "I Fall in Love/Changes" in 1976. They're music has been a touchstone of the anointing ever since. "You don't know which way the wind blows; So how can you plan tomorrow?... Jesus knows which way the wind blows; So give Him your tomorrow..."

It's great, great music, but, I lost faith in God. And, without that faith, it only remains great music rather than great music to experience one's belief with more deeply. I won't get rid of the cd's I have of The Chapter, though. They are objects to use and memorize an important memory with.

CCM Roots: Annie, Nelly, and Matthew (aka 2nd Chapter of Acts) made faith in Jesus relevant to culture by making superbly crafted music that was as equally relevant....

Good memories - I was in a band in college (UT Chattanooga) that covered a lot of these tunes.
