Biography

Hardtrance with feeling and power! An irresistible hook. “Turn up the bass” is another brillant track by DJ Gollum, DJ Yanny, D.K.Booth und Romy aka 4 Elements.

No surprise, the track has already become a bona fide club hit. 4 Elements basically are singer and front woman Romy, who is supported by her dancers on stage, and the djs and producers DJ Gollum, DJ Yanny und D.K.Booth. The three of them have been a successful team before, working on projects like DJ Yanny pres. Terraformer and Neo Cortex. DJ Gollum’s deejaying carreer started in 1994 in a discotheque called Secret (today Maxx Musichall) in Wedel near Hamburg. Bookings for Tunnel, Twilight (former Unit) and other clubs followed. In the same year, his producer carreer took shape with Black Arrows of Death, a track, he had produced together with DJ Gary D (released on EDM). Plastic Enemy, his first dance act and their track Bulldozer was the next step. An impressive number of eighty (!) more releases followed until today, including projects like DJ Gollum, Lars Palmas, Gollum und Yanny, Langenhagen, Shithead, Bassriders, Neo Cortex, Luna System, Cosmic Commando, 4 Elements, Killerbounce and Atomic Junkies – to name the most important ones. DJ Gollum also did a bunch of excellent remixes – alone or with partners like DJ Yanny, D.K.Booth or DJ at Work Schuby. He remixed acts and artists like Scooter, Special D, Sven-R-G, Kaylab or Mellow Trax. As a DJ, Gollum is regularily booked for performances in Scotland, England, Switzerland and Spain. At the moment, he’s frequently working at Devil Mania / EFX Club Hamburg and he’s a resident at “Raveolution” in Tarp’s Fantasy Music Hall. DJ YANNY took his first steps as a DJ in Hamburg’s “Meineid” club in 1992. He then became a resident at No Limit, Reactor, Twilight (former Unit), Tunnel, EFX Club and finally Devil Mania, the most famous and most frequented Wednesday night trance club in the whole of Northern Germany. As a producer, he worked with Paragod, Gary D. and long time mate DJ Gollum, scored a number one dance chart hit in Holland with Luna System and produced under different names and styles as Cosmic Commando, Shithead or Gollum und Yanny. Not to mention his hit mix trance compilation series Energy Trance. He has brought out thirty releases by now and he’s booked as a DJ in Cologne, Munich, Switzerland, Spain, Scotland, England and Holland. D.K. BOOTH has been a composer, studio - and live musician for fifteen years. After some minor releases on compilations like Trance Nation and Tunnel Trance Force, in 2000, his first trance project Neo Cortex followed, founded together with DJ Gollum and DJ Yanny. Their track Elements went on MTV and VIVA Music TV club rotation, stayed ten impressive weeks in the DDCs top ten and reached an ODC peak at position 14. Then, Terraformer, in cooperation with DJ Yanny, followed. D.K. BOOTH also does some deejaying as a vital part of the Neo Cortex DJ Team and the Terraformer DJ Team. ROMY is 4 Elements’ front singer. She was born in Anklam (GDR) in 1977. She took dance and music lessons from the age of three and learned to play the piano. At nineteen, Romy moved to Pataya in Thailand for three months to be part of a dance theatre group. After that, she went to Lisbon in Portugal for half a year. Her passion for dancing and singing was discovered in 1997, when she met Frankuft-based music producer Thomas Rehard at a party. Some years later, Romy and DJ Yanny met at a casting.
