Biography

8bitmoon is an electronic music band based in the North West, UK. The project began following a musical collaboration between producer, musician and composer Josh Crocker and Welsh singer song writer Ruth Williams in 2009. Having enjoyed working together in this capacity, the pair began to experiment with sound and song with a view to co-creating something genuine and constructive. Their sound changed and developed over the following year or so, and soon the 8bitmoon sound began to emerge.

'Ep1', 8bitmoon's first release (2013) is NOW OUT! Downloadable on Spotify and iTunes. 8bitmoon is an electronic band based in the North West of England. Taking influence from a range of musical genres, including electronica, soul, hip hop and trip hop, their sound fuses experimental productions with delicate vocals and nimble hooks to create seductively heady music.

The project began in 2009 following a musical collaboration between producer and composer Josh Crocker and Welsh singer/songwriter Ruth Williams. Having enjoyed working together in this capacity, the pair continued to experiment and co-create musically (originally under the name 'What Ruthy Said'- in reference to a Cockney Rebel song of the same name and in homage to Josh's father who was a member of Cockney Rebel in the 70's). Their music changed and developed over the following year and soon the 8bitmoon sound began to emerge. In early 2009, mutual friends Adam Nicolle (drummer and composer) and Fraser Martin (bassist) got on board and 8bitmoon- the band- was formed.
