A Ghost of Flare is a Japanese band hailing from Tokyo. The band, previously signed to Garimpeiro Records, is now associated with Epictive Records. The band currently consists of vocalist Yojiro, guitarist and producer Yu-taro and bassist Takuya.

The formation of the band was in 2009 when founding members vocalist Kaname, guitarist Yu-taro, guitarist Tsukko, bassist Taichi, came together. They were, and are still supported in recordings and live by drummer Gaku Taura (田浦楽), formerly in Nocturnal Bloodlust.

Inspired by bands like Parkway Drive and envy, guitarist Yu-taro aimed to create a similar sound infused with Japanese lyrics. Following their inception, the band actively participated in live performances centered in Tokyo.

Their debut single "swollen eyes" was released on June 22, 2012, followed by the release of their first mini-album "Kodou" (鼓動) on March 6, 2013, through Redfield Digital. They were also featured on the compilation "WE ARE LOUDER THAN YOU," released on March 15, 2013. On June 12, 2014, they released the single "Lucid dreaming."

After the release of "Lucid dreaming," founding vocalist Kaname, guitarist Tsukko, and bassist Taichi departed from the band. Despite being the only remaining member, Yu-taro sought new members to keep the band active. Eventually, vocalist Yojiro and bassist Takuya joined the lineup, and the band continued with support from drummer Gaku Taura.

Their album "Aerials" was released on October 4, 2017, through Epictive Records. Following the lineup changes, it became the new members' first track and a regular feature in their live shows. The title track is characterized by symphonic grandeur, incorporating heavy sounds infused with hardcore elements.

On March 31, 2019, A Ghost of Flare released their single "Eternal Youth" via Epictive Records. Subsequently, on June 26, 2019, they launched the album, "Soulburner." Notably, the track "Eternal youth" marks the band's first incorporation of a melodic vocal line while retaining their metalcore essence.

Their single "S.P.I.T" featuring guest vocals from RIK of HOTVOX was released on July 22, 2019, through Epictive Records.

Most recently, their single "GOD, FIRE, PUNK." was released on June 30, 2023, continuing their musical journey with Epictive Records.
