I'm not really sure why so many people think the studio version of this song is about nuclear war. The album itself is described as a requiem for open spaces in the band's hometown of Montreal, and the closing lyrics describe the fact that it is impossible to see the night sky due to ambient lighting that is always present in a city. I'm aware that live versions of the song often expand the lyrics, though, and that version does seem to have lyrics about nuclear war. In any case, it's a brilliant song like the rest of the album.

The ambience at the beginning and starsnostars. Brilliant. I listen to this whenever I feel like the world is going not quite right and I feel much better. Or during fairly much every hangover
