The song’s lyrics talk about Rae’s crush on a boy, it is rumored that this song is about Rae’s current boyfriend, guitarist, producer, and songwriter, Omer Fedi
The song was first teased on June 13, 2021, in a TikTok. Ever since then, Rae has posted about the song several times but has never confirmed the release of the song.
In an interview with ‘'Glamour’', Rae said the following about the song, ”I’ve seen so much stuff about my unreleased song “I Got It Bad.” I think it’s so funny right now. I don’t know . We’ll have to see, I guess. It just depends.”
A snippet of the song was posted on Twitter and on the same day the full song was leaked.
