Alex Kendall Somers is a Baltimore, Maryland based visual artist and musician who also lived for about 10 years in Reykjavík, Iceland with his longtime partner who is also a vocalist and guitar player for Icelandic post-rock band, Sigur Rós, Jón "Jónsi" Þór Birgisson. Upon their break-up, Somers resides in Los Angeles, California. He continues to release recordings and to work on film soundtracks and scores. Somers is also a raw food vegan and a founding member of Parachutes. He collaborated with Jónsi, producing visual art and music called Jónsi & Alex and released Riceboy Sleeps, their first instrumentals album.
